This is Christ, our Savior

We are so grateful to God for this new year that has started with so much work to do, personal challenges and goals to be achieved. We are aware that without God´s leading and care all effort would be in vain.

Family

I thank God that my family is well and always receiving His blessings.

Norma continues working as a Psychologist at several Schools from the government. After serving 29 years in this field, soon she will retiring, God´s willing. She is serving at Church, teaching a connection group, which is a group of new believers that studies themes like: The Christian faith and The grace of God.

Gabriel Jr. continues working as an Administrator at Blas Pascal Christian School in the mornings and in the afternoons works at a Spanish Corporation or clothing called ZARA.

Diego works at a Physical Therapy Clinic in the mornings and in the afternoons is doing his Social service at the Clinic of the Marista Univeristy, in which he studied. This Social service lasts a year and is part of the curriculum in order to receive his title. God´s willing, he will finish this requirement in July. He is involved at Church with the youth, in a small group. This weekend he will go to a camp designed for them. He is going to serve in the area of Sports.

I continue working in the administration of the Shalom Church. This year, a new headquarter began, SHALOM CAUCEL. We have there around 70 people on average. We are supporting in the administration and procedures for regularization of the piece of land that was given us by the government, in order to build the new Church.

At Blas Pascal Christian School, I continue working as the managing Director. Our recent achievement in relation to facilities, is that almost all the classrooms in the School now enjoy air conditioners. After almost a year of dealing with the Company in charge to perform the installation, finally it has been achieved. This was a matter of great need, because of the weather of our city, and besides that other Schools already had this service, we were on disadvantage. This has an impact on our enrollment as a School. This was a real challenge on the economic side. Although the process was slow, now it is a fact. We thank God.

Missionary Groups

COVENANT WEST LAFAYETTE, IN.

This year has begun with a lot of activities in this area. On January, we had the great blessing to have a group of 9 men and a lady from Covenant Presbyterian Church from West Lafayette, IN. Pedro, Lety and myself, staff from Mérida, plus the group, went to Antioquia Presbyterian Church in Kancabchen for 7 days. Kancabchen is located west of Mérida, an hour and a half driving. We painted 8 classrooms and the kitchen. In total we did 1200 square mts. We used 10 buckets of 19 lts of paint. The group also made 8 cabinets of wood for the kitchen of the Church. Another great blessing, was the building of the roof for one room and the bathroom of the Pastor´s house, Pbro. Carlos Cauich. We worked in the mornings and in the afternoons the group had VBS for children of the town. We had up to 100 children everyday.

BRIARWOOD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA)

From March 25th  to the 30th we had a group of 11 people, basically formed by three families. The group and our staff went to a town called Yotholin, Ticul, Yucatán. This is located in the southern cone of our State. The project was to help  Sinaí Presbyterian Church in which Pbro. Celso Gutierrez, serves. The project involved roofing with concrete the Pastoral house. There were 100 squere meters, which needed the lifting of 30 beams, 600 blocks, preparing 50 cement bags with 7 square mts of sand and gravel. We were able to paint the bathrooms and halls of the Educational building of the Church. We are so grateful to God because we could finish this project, since the brothers from the Church could not afford to finish their project, until now, after two years. What a blessing!

GRACE POINT CHURCH (BREMERTON, WASHINGTON)

From March 31st to April 6th a group of 28 people from this Church came to Mérida to help “El Mesías” Prebyterian Church in which Pbro. Juan Trujillo serves. The project was roofing with concrete an area of 172 square mts, which belongs to the first level of the Educational building of the Church. Although it was a hard and complicated task, the group, plus brothers from the Church and Mérida staff  were able to finish the project. We lifted 54 beams,  1100 blocks, we mixed 100 cement bags, 7 square meters of gravel and 7 square meters of sand.  We also had the opportunity to build the water proof of the Pastoral house, in this case, Pbro. Celso Gutiérrez .

We are so grateful to our good God for all the blessings received during these three months and each one of you for your prayers and economical support.

Needs

Our Christian School, Blas Pascal needs for the next School period, English teachers for 10th , 11th and 12th. So, if there is somebody who is interested in coming as a missionary for a two year period, please, let us know. We will be glad to get in touch with him or her.

Prayer requests

  • Blas Pascal: for more students for our School, since there are two more Educational Institutions, recently opened. And because of this, we have lost some students.

  • For 5 missionary groups that are coming this summer. That the Lord may give us the opportunity to serve together and be a blessing to the Churches in Yucatán.

  • For my family, that we may serve the Lord in the way He desires.
